My Route

My route is simple. I kept it simple by using a small map. I will leave my home in Toronto for the most eastern point in North America, Cape Spear Newfoundland, from Newfoundland I will ride to the most western point in North America accessible by road, Homer Alaska, then to Prudhoe Bay Alaska in the north and finally to the most southern city in the world, Ushuaia Argentina.

On the first leg of my adventure, Toronto to Newfoundland I will travel with my good friend David and his beautiful chrome covered Harley.  We will return to Toronto together where I will take the opportunity to say goodbye to family and friends, pickup last minute supplies and give my bike one final inspection before I tackle the remainder of my route. The remainder of my adventure will be a solo journey.

    Hi Greg,
I have been checking over your blog for your America trip and was looking for a little advice. I am a 23 year old student from Edmonton about to graduate from University. My grand plan is a bike trip as far south as I can make it (Shooting for Panama). As I have no previouse experiance with motorbikes I am hitting the world wide web and friend connections for as much information from experianced riders as I can find. You seem to have a few epic travels under your belt so I was wondering If you could give me a reccomendation on what type of bike I would be looking at for the types of roads you have come across on your journeys (The fact that i am female and 125lbs makes finding a proper bike mroe difficult). Also any pointers a seasoned motorcycle wandered could offer would be of the greatest help. 🙂

I would suggest you check out http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ for the most recent informaiton. I am friends with a guy who turned 71 on his motorcyle adventure through South America, I dont think age is an issue at all.

    Inspiring!
I came across your blogs while searching for how to travel from Panama to Columbia. The boat travel is just what we are looking for. I am from Newfoundland and have driven from Ottawa to Corner Brook before. It was quite a drive. We are now in Victoria BC and planning our travel from here down the coast to South America on bike. I have enjoyed your posts and I like the detail with tips. Thanks for the great info
    Justin

    Hello from texas

I am wanting to ride a motorbike from texas to ecuador but am concerned about riding around the border regiom near northern mexico/southern us. Any advice. I really do appreciate it.

  12. greg says:

The advise I got was to put the border behind me. Cross with a full tank of gas and ride until its empty.

Thinking about doing a long haul trip through Mexico. Where is a good site to pick up with other Harley (or other brand) riders willing to spend two or three months in Mexico?
